Pedal Compass
The organ at St. John's was originally constructed nearly to the apex of a mid-century modern nave, and had divisions placed in the traditional way. Atop the case is the Great division, with the Swell beneath and Choir at the bottom. The pedal division is divided on either side of the main case. Within the main case, there is a separate air circulation system that distributes conditioned air throughout the organ, which keeps the divisions well in tune. Over the course of 2021, St. John's built a new (larger) sanctuary adjacent to the existing one. The organ was removed, refurbished, and reinstalled in the new space with modest tonal changes.
